Interested in staying updated on artists dealing with questions of state violence, memory, and dictatorship? Look no further: between main issues of Artememoria, interviews, book reviews, news updates, and more will be posted weekly on this blog. Here is where the conversation that began with the issue Witness Testimony continues and expands.
What’s more, we need your voices for that conversation. Please comment (respectfully!) on posts here on the blog. Like and follow the magazine on our Facebook page — and feel free to post relevant articles and links. If you want to get involved further, check out our About page under the Collaborate tab: Artememoria is always looking for pitches, not only for main issue content but also for the blog. Just Contact Artememoria with your idea.
Beyond the virtual realm, there is an upcoming opportunity to interact with the magazine in person: Artememoria will have a launch event on Monday, March 12 in Rio de Janeiro. Three guests – novelist Ricardo Lísias, funk musician MC Leonardo, and humorist Richard Goodwin – will join the editor of Artememoria, Lara Norgaard, to discuss some of the themes from the magazine’s inaugural issue. The conversation will be facilitated by Paulo César Gomes, editor of the site História da Ditadura. If you happen to be in Rio, head to the Leonardo da Vinci Bookstore in Centro at 6:30 P.M. for the event. Bring your questions and ideas about Witness Testimony and Artememoria! A print edition of the magazine will also be available only at this event.
